Tough old game, really gave your skills a tough test. They don't make them like this anymore.
Long game as well, I've yet to beat this game to this day.
You can continue by holding a direction when you press start if you collect the BEE in the egg hidden right before the final post of level 1. I'd like to know if there is a code to select which level you begin at.
For some reason this is the game franchise that I have always secretly liked. There is nothing special about it on the surface but it, in an island tone, mirrored what was going on in the Mario games, and the gameplay was simple and fun.
